Some of the beaches within Lanzarote have quite flat waters which are perfect for beginners, especially those who are slightly apprehensive about being in the water.
One of the best areas for beginners is La Santa which is located on the west coast as it offers a sheltered lagoon which is helpful for beginners and Matagorfa, north of Puerto del Carmen which has a mixture of flat and bump and jump conditions which are great for learning in.
