Every year, thousands of tourists and windsurfing enthusiasts flock to the area in order to take full advantage of the warm, clear waters and strong Atlantic winds which help to make this the perfect area in which to enjoy the sport.

For those who are keen on the sport, there are many beaches in Fuerteventura that have some fantastic waves and strong winds which provide perfect conditions for the sport. However, those who have no experience whatsoever with wind surfing can still enjoy the sport following a bit of training. There are various organizations around Fuerteventura offering day long courses and days out surfing, whilst also providing you with the necessary suits and equipment. This is the ideal way in which to have some fun, top up your tan and learn a new skill all at the same time!

Beginners will find many calmer spots which are perfect for learning and practicing but when in any doubt, always ask the advice of an instructor or even any other windsurfers you may meet during your vacation. The western side of the island is known for having the strongest waves and currents so these are perfect for experts, but in no circumstance should a beginner try to tackle these waters. With lessons from beginner to advanced, you are sure to enjoy learning this fantastic sport.
