By enrolling on an NCTJ Sports journalism course, you could be equipped with the necessary skills to start writing effective and captivating reports on all of the highs and lows, as they unfold on the world's biggest sporting stage!

Just imagine walking around the Olympic park, taking in the atmosphere, then writing all about it for a local or even national newspaper! The possibilities really are endless, with the right training!

This is exactly what Afzal Shaikh did, he enrolled on an NCTJ Sports journalism course, and within just a few months of hard work, he was able to apply the skills he'd learnt to help him with his job as a member of the Qatar Olympic Committee.

This is what he had to say about the course, when we caught up with him:

"I've been working as a sports editor for almost a decade now, but had no prior qualification or certificate to back my experience.

"The course at CTJT not only gave me that, but it also helped me develop my skills and professionalism.

"The quality was exceptional! Cleland Thom was and in fact still is an extremely supportive individual with his guidance and tips. The marking on my submitted assignments really helped me improve on certain areas, especially with the intros and short paragraphs.

"I've had previous experiences with distance-learning, but CTJT is simply the best of all.

"The content was precise and designed profoundly for people in the field of sports journalism.

"I've learned a lot from this course and have started to implement all that into my professional career which is now flourishing, with positive comments from my seniors."
